On the 25th April 2019, the eye of Cyclone Kenneth struck Mozambique, directly hitting our beach, destroying Guludo Beach Lodge and all 16 villages we have been working with since 2002. Over 45 people have lost their lives within these villages and 36,000 people have no homes, schools or medical facilities. As the founder and a trustee of Nema Foundation, the only NGO based in the worst affected area, we will not rest until each school is rebuilt, a new hospital is open and the villages no longer need our support.
A FRESH APPROACH TO LEVERAGE TOURISM TO SCALE POSITIVE IMPACT.

A MUCH SOUGHT AFTER KEYNOTE SPEAKER ON THE GLOBAL IMPACT OF PURPOSE DRIVEN, SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS AND A NATURAL BORN LEADER WHO SEES BUSINESS AS A TOOL FOR GOOD
Amy defined what makes a “social entrepreneur” long before the term became "de rigueur". From the moment she started on her entrepreneurial journey in business, after an inspiring gap year as an 18 year old, she was certain that life was about having a net positive impact.
Driven by this purpose in life, she inspired her husband, Neal, to move to Mozambique to develop, build & create an eco-boutique hotel, Guludo Beach Lodge with the local community, that would go on to become a multi-award winning business, held up as a shining example and case study on the sustainable impact that it is possible to achieve in the travel & tourism industry; from a 24 bed property, more than 25,000 people are being lifted out of poverty. Using an innovative approach to charitable giving, Amy founded a UK registered charity, Nema Foundation, to achieve these goals.
Amy’s passion for impact, purpose driven businesses blows your mind, when she shares her thoughts on the many amazing ways entrepreneurs can “walk the talk” and lead by example to create a more sustainable approach to some of the many global challenges facing the world today.
Now a mother of 2 small children, today her drive & purpose have become even more focussed; how can we (entrepreneurs) create a more balanced & sustainable world for the next generation. Amy truly believes that the Travel & Tourism industry can and should play a key role in defining the answer to this question and created rippl. (previously Beyond Sustainability) to achieve this.
The future will be a much brighter place if we all take the lead from Amy. Watch this space, some big ideas are being formed.
